In 2020, the FCDO announced a £3 million fund which was allocated on a grant basis to 8 implementing partners. This grant was to assist UK Nationals, living in the EU, with residency applications and to protect their rights under the withdrawal and separation agreements.
CRPG is a Proud Implementing Partner
CRPG was one of those partners dedicated to helping those who were not able to apply for themselves for whatever reason. With a team of trained volunteers CRPG was able to assist people in their own homes taking their applications to the Civil Registry and Migration Department (CRMD) on their behalf.
The Help Desk was an important point of contact for many UKN’s requesting advice on many matters relating to living in Cyprus and continues to be so for UKN’s who are either already living in Cyprus or who are planning to live, and possible retire, in Cyprus.
Since its inception three founding members of CRPG have been royally recognised for their services to the wider UK community in Cyprus.
Firstly, in January 2022, Mike and Pam Groves were each awarded, in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list, the British Empire Medal in recognition of their long-standing contribution to the UK community in Cyprus.
Secondly and more recently, St John Coombes was awarded an MBE in the King’s first Birthday Honours list for his contribution to the British Community in Cyprus. An MBE is awarded to those who have made a significant long-term impact to the community. To read more about St John’s award please refer to this link
